Reuters is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Journalist / Reporter to join our team in Valencia, Spain. This role is crucial for expanding our English-language coverage of significant events, economic developments, and cultural trends within the region and broader Spain. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, researching, writing, and delivering compelling news stories, features, and analyses for our global audience. You will be expected to work independently, break news, and develop a strong network of contacts.

Responsabilidades Clave

• Identify, research, and pitch original news stories relevant to an international English-speaking audience.
• Conduct interviews with key sources, including government officials, business leaders, academics, and local residents.
• Write clear, concise, and accurate news reports, features, and analytical pieces under tight deadlines.
• Collaborate with editors, photographers, and video journalists to produce multimedia content.
• Monitor local and national news sources to identify emerging trends and breaking stories.
• Maintain a strong network of contacts within the region.
• Adhere to Reuters' high standards of journalistic ethics and accuracy.

Habilidades Requeridas

• Excellent command of written and spoken English, with native-level proficiency.
• Proven experience in journalism, reporting, or editorial roles.
• Strong research and interviewing skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse global team.
• Demonstrated ability to write engaging and accurate content under pressure.
• Understanding of current affairs, economics, and politics in Spain and Europe.

Cualificaciones Preferidas

• Fluency in Spanish or Valencian is highly desirable.
• Experience covering business, finance, or political beats.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Political Science, or a related field.
• Proficiency with content management systems and digital publishing tools.
