We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Journalist / Reporter to join our digital media team in Vigo, Galicia. This role is crucial for covering local news, events, and stories that matter to the community of Vigo and its surrounding areas. You will be responsible for researching, writing, and producing compelling content for our digital platforms, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and engaging narratives. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong journalistic ethics, and a passion for digital storytelling.

Responsabilidades Clave

• Research, investigate, and report on local news, current events, and features relevant to the Vigo community.
• Write clear, concise, and engaging articles, reports, and features for digital publication, adhering to strict deadlines.
• Conduct interviews with sources, experts, and community members to gather information and perspectives.
• Utilize multimedia elements, including photos, videos, and audio, to enhance storytelling.
• Collaborate with editors, photographers, and video journalists to produce comprehensive content packages.
• Monitor local news trends and social media for breaking stories and potential leads.
• Ensure all content is accurate, fact-checked, and compliant with journalistic standards and ethical guidelines.
• Optimize content for search engines (SEO) to maximize digital reach and engagement.
• Engage with readers and the community through comments, social media, and local events.
• Stay updated on digital media best practices and emerging storytelling technologies.

Habilidades Requeridas

• Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills in Spanish (native/fluent).
• Strong understanding of journalistic ethics and best practices.
• Proven ability to conduct thorough research and interviews.
• Proficiency in digital storytelling and content creation for online platforms.
• Experience with multimedia content (photography, basic video editing) is highly valued.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with the local culture, politics, and social landscape of Vigo and Galicia.
• Proficiency in English (professional working proficiency) for internal communication and international content.

Cualificaciones Preferidas

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
