Descripción del Trabajo
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chemical Engineer to join our Process Plant team in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing existing chemical processes, designing new process improvements, and ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. You will work within a dynamic team to drive continuous improvement initiatives, troubleshoot operational issues, and contribute to the development of robust and scalable manufacturing solutions. This position requires a strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, process control, and a commitment to quality and regulatory compliance in a pharmaceutical environment.
Responsabilidades Clave
- Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for pharmaceutical manufacturing, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
- Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot process performance using statistical process control (SPC) and other analytical tools.
- Lead and participate in process validation activities, ensuring compliance with cGMP, FDA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement process control strategies and automation improvements.
- Conduct hazard analysis and risk assessments for new and existing processes, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and facilities.
- Provide technical support and training to operations personnel.
Habilidades Requeridas
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in process engineering within the pharmaceutical, chemical, or related highly regulated industry.
- Strong understanding of chemical process principles, unit operations, and thermodynamics.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II) and data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of cGMP, FDA regulations, and other relevant industry standards.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex process issues and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Cualificaciones Preferidas
- Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in Spanish (verbal and written).
- Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or PLC programming.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
