Descripción del Trabajo

We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Barley Farm Assistant to join our team for a seasonal role in Puerto del Carmen, Canary Islands. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and are eager to contribute to the agricultural process. As a Seasonal Barley Farm Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting various farming operations, primarily focused on barley cultivation, from planting to harvest. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic agricultural environment.

Responsabilidades Clave

  • Assist with the preparation of fields for planting, including soil cultivation and fertilization.
  • Participate in the planting of barley crops, ensuring proper spacing and depth.
  • Monitor crop health, identifying and reporting any signs of pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies.
  • Perform irrigation tasks, ensuring crops receive adequate water supply.
  • Assist with the maintenance of farm equipment and machinery, ensuring they are in good working order.
  • Participate in the harvesting process, operating or assisting with harvesting machinery as directed.
  • Carry out general farm duties such as weeding, clearing debris, and maintaining farm infrastructure.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and farm protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with the farm team to achieve daily and weekly production targets.

Habilidades Requeridas

  • Physical fitness and ability to perform demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of agricultural practices or willingness to learn quickly.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Legal right to work in Spain.

Cualificaciones Preferidas

  • Previous experience working on a farm or in an agricultural setting.
  • Experience operating farm machinery (e.g., tractors, seeders, harvesters).
  • Basic knowledge of Spanish language is an advantage.
  • Valid driving license.
