We are seeking a skilled and experienced Boat Builder / Shipwright to join our dynamic team at Vilanova Grand Marina. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in marine carpentry, boat construction, repair, and maintenance, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the structural integrity, aesthetics, and functionality of luxury yachts, working with diverse materials including wood, fiberglass, and composite. This is a hands-on role requiring a dedicated individual who can work independently and as part of a collaborative team to meet project deadlines and uphold our rigorous standards.

Responsabilidades Clave

• Perform structural repairs and modifications on various types of marine vessels, including wooden, fiberglass, and composite constructions.
• Execute high-quality marine carpentry, including joinery, decking, interior fit-outs, and custom fabrication.
• Install, repair, and maintain marine components, hardware, and systems.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and design specifications to ensure accurate construction and repair.
• Prepare surfaces for painting, varnishing, and finishing, ensuring a smooth and durable result.
• Conduct thorough inspections to identify defects, damage, or areas requiring attention.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and quality control standards throughout all projects.
• Collaborate effectively with other marine trades professionals, including mechanics, electricians, and painters.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Habilidades Requeridas

• Proven experience as a Boat Builder, Shipwright, or Marine Carpenter.
• Proficiency in marine carpentry techniques, including joinery and finishing.
• Experience with fiberglass and composite repair and fabrication.
• Strong understanding of boat construction methods and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Manual dexterity and physical stamina for demanding work.
• Commitment to safety practices in a marine environment.

Cualificaciones Preferidas

• Formal qualification or apprenticeship in boat building, marine technology, or a related field.
• Experience with superyacht construction or refit projects.
• Knowledge of marine systems (plumbing, electrical, mechanical).
• Proficiency in Spanish and/or Catalan.
• Forklift operation certification.
