We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Marine Engineer to join our fleet. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all marine engineering systems aboard our vessels. This role requires strong technical expertise, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to communicate effectively in English within an international crew environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuous operational readiness and safety of our ships while adhering to international maritime regulations.

Responsabilidades Clave

• Oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of the vessel's propulsion plant, auxiliary machinery, and all associated engineering systems.
• Conduct regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and corrective actions on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
• Manage the inventory of spare parts, consumables, and engineering supplies, ensuring timely requisitions and proper storage.
• Maintain accurate engineering logs, records, and documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, environmental protection standards (e.g., MARPOL), and classification society rules.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate effectively with the Captain and other department heads to ensure seamless vessel operations.

Habilidades Requeridas

• Degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Valid STCW III/2 or III/1 Certificate of Competency (Engineer Officer).
• Minimum of 3 years of seagoing experience as an Engineer Officer.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English, essential for international communication.
• Comprehensive knowledge of marine diesel engines, auxiliary machinery, and electrical systems.
• Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair skills.
• Familiarity with planned maintenance systems (PMS).
• Excellent understanding of maritime safety and environmental regulations.

Cualificaciones Preferidas

• Class 1 Marine Engineer Certificate of Competency.
• Experience working on passenger ferries or high-speed vessels.
• Knowledge of Spanish language (verbal and written).
• Experience with advanced automation and control systems.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
