Join our dedicated team as an Aviation Security Officer and play a crucial role in safeguarding passengers, personnel, and property at Calgary International Airport. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals passionate about public safety, security protocols, and maintaining a secure airport environment. You will be instrumental in conducting thorough security screenings, managing access control, and responding to security incidents in accordance with Transport Canada regulations and airport policies. Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure you are fully equipped for success in this essential role.

Responsabilidades Clave

• Conducting security screenings of passengers, baggage, cargo, and airport personnel using various detection methods and equipment.
• Monitoring and controlling access to restricted areas of the airport, verifying credentials, and challenging unauthorized individuals.
• Patrolling designated areas of the airport to identify and report suspicious activities or security breaches.
• Responding promptly and effectively to security alarms, incidents, and emergencies, following established protocols.
• Operating and maintaining specialized security equipment, including X-ray machines, metal detectors, and CCTV systems.
• Enforcing Transport Canada Aviation Security Regulations and airport security directives.
• Completing detailed reports of security incidents, observations, and daily activities.
• Providing excellent customer service and assistance to passengers while maintaining a professional and authoritative presence.
• Collaborating with law enforcement, airline personnel, and other airport stakeholders to ensure a coordinated security effort.
• Undergoing continuous training and professional development to stay current with evolving security threats and technologies.

Habilidades Requeridas

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and all necessary security clearances.
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure and during emergency situations.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and perform duties for extended periods, including lifting up to 25 kg.
• Must pass a comprehensive background check and medical examination.
• Basic computer literacy.

Cualificaciones Preferidas

• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field.
• Post-secondary education in criminal justice, security management, or a related discipline.
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
• Proficiency in additional languages.
