We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel specializing in International Law to join our dynamic Legal Department in Valencia. This pivotal role involves providing expert legal advice and support on a wide range of international legal matters, ensuring compliance with global regulations, and mitigating legal risks across our diverse operations. The successful candidate will be instrumental in navigating the complexities of international finance and business law, contributing directly to Santander’s global strategic objectives.

Responsabilidades Clave

• Provide comprehensive legal advice on international law, cross-border transactions, and global regulatory compliance, including GDPR, AML, and sanctions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate international contracts, agreements, and legal documents in multiple jurisdictions.
• Manage and oversee international litigation and arbitration cases, coordinating with external counsel as necessary.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on emerging international legal trends and their potential impact on the company.
• Develop and implement internal legal policies and procedures to ensure adherence to international legal standards.
• Collaborate closely with internal business units, risk management, and compliance teams on international projects and initiatives.
• Advise on corporate governance matters pertaining to international subsidiaries and operations.
• Support M&A activities and other strategic initiatives with an international dimension.

Habilidades Requeridas

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree from an accredited institution.
• Admission to the bar in a relevant jurisdiction (e.g., Spain, EU member state).
• Minimum of 6 years of post-qualification experience in international law, preferably within a multinational corporation or major law firm.
• Deep expertise in international commercial law, regulatory compliance, and cross-border transactions.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, international environment.

Cualificaciones Preferidas

• Master's degree (LL.M.) in International Law, Corporate Law, or a related field.
• Experience with financial services regulations (e.g., MiFID II, PSD2, Basel III).
• Proficiency in additional languages (e.g., Portuguese, French, German).
• Proven track record of managing complex international legal projects.
