Descripción del Trabajo

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mining Engineer – Operations to join our team in Girona, Spain. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily mining operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and adherence to production targets. This role involves planning, supervising, and optimizing mining processes, from excavation to ore processing, while maintaining compliance with environmental regulations and company standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, leveraging your expertise to drive operational improvements and contribute to the overall success of our mining projects.

Responsabilidades Clave

  • Plan, organize, and supervise daily mining operations, ensuring optimal resource utilization and adherence to production schedules.
  • Monitor and optimize mining processes, including drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and crushing, to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Implement and enforce strict safety protocols and environmental regulations to ensure a safe working environment and minimize ecological impact.
  • Conduct regular inspections of mining equipment and infrastructure, coordinating maintenance activities to ensure operational continuity.
  • Analyze operational data, identify areas for improvement, and implement innovative solutions to enhance productivity and performance.
  • Prepare detailed reports on production, costs, safety incidents, and operational challenges.
  • Manage and mentor a team of mine workers, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with geological, metallurgical, and environmental teams to ensure integrated project execution.
  • Assist in the development of short-term and long-term mine plans.

Habilidades Requeridas

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in open-pit or underground mining operations.
  • Proficiency in mine planning software (e.g., AutoCAD, Deswik, Vulcan).
  • Strong understanding of mining methods, equipment, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken).

Cualificaciones Preferidas

  • Master's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience with industrial minerals extraction and processing.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Valid driver's license.
