We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Freelance Proofreader / Editor to join our remote team. This is a contract position designed for individuals who thrive on ensuring linguistic accuracy, consistency, and adherence to style guides across a variety of content types. As a key part of our content quality assurance process, you will be responsible for reviewing documents, articles, marketing materials, and other written content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and overall readability. This 100% remote role offers the flexibility to work from your own environment while collaborating with a global team of language professionals.

Responsabilidades Clave

• Proofread and edit diverse content (e.g., technical documents, marketing collateral, web content, legal texts) for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and typographical errors.
• Ensure strict adherence to client-specific style guides, glossaries, and brand voice.
• Verify factual accuracy, consistency, and clarity of information.
• Review translated content against source material to ensure linguistic and cultural accuracy.
• Provide constructive feedback and suggest improvements to enhance content quality and readability.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality.
• Utilize various CAT tools and quality assurance software as required.

Habilidades Requeridas

• Native-level proficiency in English (or target language for specific projects).
• Proven experience as a professional proofreader or editor.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for errors.
• Strong understanding of grammar, syntax, and punctuation rules.
• Familiarity with various style guides (e.g., APA, Chicago, MLA).
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Cualificaciones Preferidas

• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Linguistics, or a related field.
• Experience with translation memory (TM) tools and content management systems (CMS).
• Familiarity with quality assurance (QA) tools specific to language services (e.g., Xbench, Verifika).
• Experience in specialized fields such as life sciences, legal, or IT.
• Ability to work in multiple languages (bilingual or multilingual).
