We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our team at the Institute for Coastal and Marine Research. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a vibrant research setting, supporting ongoing projects related to marine biology, coastal ecology, and environmental science. The successful candidate will contribute to various stages of research, from data collection and laboratory analysis to literature reviews and report preparation, playing a crucial role in advancing our understanding of coastal and marine environments.

Responsabilidades Clave

• Assist senior researchers with data collection in both field and laboratory settings, including sample preparation and basic instrument operation.
• Perform preliminary data entry, organization, and basic analysis using established protocols and software.
• Conduct literature reviews and gather background information relevant to ongoing research projects.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
• Prepare research materials, reagents, and equipment for experiments and field expeditions.
• Assist in the preparation of research reports, presentations, and scientific publications.
• Communicate effectively with team members, providing updates on progress and challenges.

Habilidades Requeridas

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Oceanography, or a related scientific field.
• Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques and safety procedures.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Prior experience (academic or professional) in a research laboratory or field setting.
• Familiarity with data analysis software (e.g., R, SPSS, MATLAB).
