We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sustainability Officer – Green Initiatives to join our dynamic team in Bilbao, Basque Country. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and monitoring our green initiatives and sustainability strategies. You will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure our operations align with our ambitious environmental goals, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder expectations, directly contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable future for our planet.
Responsabilidades Clave
- Develop and implement comprehensive sustainability strategies and green initiatives across various business units.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on key environmental performance indicators (e.g., carbon emissions, water consumption, waste management).
- Ensure compliance with national and international environmental regulations, standards, and best practices (e.g., EU Green Deal, ISO 14001).
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and support the integration of sustainability principles into new projects and existing operations.
- Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, communities, and regulatory bodies, on sustainability matters.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in resource efficiency, renewable energy integration, and circular economy practices.
- Prepare sustainability reports, presentations, and communications for various audiences, promoting transparency and accountability.
- Stay abreast of emerging sustainability trends, technologies, and regulatory changes to inform strategic planning.
Habilidades Requeridas
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in sustainability management, environmental consulting, or corporate social responsibility.
- Strong understanding of environmental legislation, policies, and international sustainability frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience in managing sustainability projects, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
Cualificaciones Preferidas
- Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
- Certifications such as LEED AP, ISO 14001 Auditor, or similar.
- Experience within the energy sector or large industrial organizations.
- Knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies and tools.
- Proven ability to drive cultural change and embed sustainability principles across an organization.
